VEHICLE CONVERSIONS

A vehicle gas conversion involves the modification of a traditional petrol or diesel vehicle to run on autogas. This process typically includes the installation of an additional fuel system alongside the existing fuel system. The key components of a gas conversion include a gas tank for storing the fuel, a vaporizer or regulator to convert the liquid gas into a vapour, and gas injectors or a carburettor to mix the vaporized gas with air before combustion. The vehicle’s engine control system may also be adjusted or reprogrammed to accommodate the new fuel. These conversions can be completed in a day or two depending on the fleet size and resources allocated to the project.

Trucks

Heavy-duty trucks and buses account for about one-third of NOx emissions and one-quarter of PM emissions from mobile sources. In some cities, the contribution is even greater. The fine particles in diesel exhaust (known as particulate matter) pose serious health risks.

Diesel exhaust also has environmental impacts. PM from diesel engines contributes to haze, which restricts visibility. In addition, diesel exhaust contributes to ozone formation, acid rain, and global climate change.

Running vehicles on natural gas has a positive effect on the risks as outlined above, examples include:

  • CO2 – up to 10% reduction compared to Diesel
  • Particulate emissions – reduced by 99%
  • Carbon Monoxide – reduced by 90%
  • Benzene – reduced by 97- 99%
  • Nitrous Oxide – reduced by 85%
  • Lead and sulphur – 100% reduction
  • Gas engines are also quieter than diesel engines

  1. R67-01 UN/ECE Approval: This approval certifies that the conversion kits comply with Regulation No. 67-01 of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), which sets standards for the installation of LPG and CNG systems in vehicles.
  2. ISO 9001 Certification: This certification demonstrates that the manufacturing processes and quality management systems of the conversion kits meet the requirements set by the international Organization for Standardization (ISO).
  3. ECE 115 Approval: This approval is specific to emissions control systems and certifies that the conversion kits comply with the relevant European regulations for vehicle emissions.
  4. TÜV Certification: TÜV certification indicates that the conversion kits have been tested and approved by TÜV Rheinland, a German certification body known for its rigorous testing and quality standards.
  5. CE Marking: The CE marking indicates that the conversion kits comply with European Union (EU) regulations regarding health, safety, and environmental protection standards.
  6. National Type Approvals (SABS): All technicians and installations are compliant with SABS standards.

These certifications and approvals are earned through rigorous testing and adherence to specified emission levels, documentation practices, and quality standards mandated by the directive, assures customers that our products meet the highest industry benchmarks.
